Postmodernism, existing in the (pre?)apocalyptic era, brain rot, AI bot-talk… Few, perhaps none of us are strangers to coping with these uncertain, certainly volatile times we are living in through humor. Musing in memes, writing cryptic poetry, shit posts filling the feed, and revolution rarely permitted to be broadcasted on the TV. Yet the wings of words remain unclipped and they adorn the soundscape of our world like we fill our walls with art. Words with Wings seeks to dive deeply into the cognitive dissonance of accepting moments of happiness in the twenty-first century. This project will incorporate spoken word poetry with accompanying music to articulate the challenges and triumphs of finding joy while sustaining hope when the world feels so often as though it’s crumbling, so cruel and unkind.
